Mufti meets Rajnath amid debate over Article 35A

New Delhi, Aug 10 : After Supreme Court sought Centre’s view over abrogation of Article 35A, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today met Home Minister Rajnath Singh here.

However, nothing has emerged out from the meeting which lasted for 45 minutes between the two leaders.

Article 35A provides special provisions to the state under the Indian Constitution.

The Chief Minister is under pressure from all quarters in the state after the apex court has kept the petition for detailed hearing on August 14, 2017.

Ms Mufti is likely to meet newly-appointed President Ram Nath Kovind as a courtesy call tomorrow and then will call on to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sources said.
