Police Fears Violence on eve of Eid
Srinagar: In a dramatic development, the Jammu& Kashmir Police on the eve of eid-ul-fitr has begun to seize the motorcycle bikes. The development has come at a time when on the holy night of Shab-e-Qadr hundreds of bike borne youth attacked the Nowhatta Police Station.
Pertinently, six cops were injured when a clash broke out between protesters and police during a demonstration in Nowhatta locality here following which 73 people were arrested.
Our team witnessed scores of bikes being seized by the police at several places viz… Nowhattta, Khanyar Kralakhud, and other areas of Srinagar city. According to sources, police fears that violence might break out on the eve of Eid by the bike borne youth.
During last year’s unrest large scale arson had took place on the eve of Eid-ul-fitr when thousands hit the streets of Srinagar city resulting in large scale arson and injuries to scores of protesters during violent clashes.
