Kyiv, May 8 Around 60 people have been feared killed in a missile attack that hit a school in Luhansk region of Ukraine, media reported on Sunday.
The airstrike had taken place on Saturday in the school, where 90 people had taken shelter, said an official.
Serhiy Hayday, Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, said in a Telegram post on Sunday that 30 people have been rescued from the school, seven were wounded among them.
Two bodies were recovered from the debris, added Hayday.
It is “likely that all of the 60 people left under the building’s wreckage were killed,” CNN quoted Hayday as saying.
A CNN report said that a Russian aircraft had dropped a bomb on the school in the village of Bilohorivka, which was some seven miles from the frontlines, according to Hayday.
The fires, caused by the strike, took almost four hours to extinguish, he said.
