Srinagar, 2 May: Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema and Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr. Umar Farooq, expressed deep sorrow over the passing away of renowned Islamic scholar and Khateeb of Bazaar Masjid Srinagar, Maulana Mubarak Mubarki sahab.

In a statement issued to the Kashmir Media Watch, In his heartfelt tribute, Mirwaiz described the late Maulana as a revered scholar, an eloquent preacher, and a devoted servant of Islamic teachings in Kashmir. “A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit him during his illness. Despite his frailty, he recognised me immediately and spoke with warmth and clarity. His passing is a personal loss to me and a great misfortune for the religious and spiritual landscape of Kashmir,” Mirwaiz said.

The Namaz-e-Janazah (funeral prayer) of Maulana Mubarak Mubarki sahab was held at the historic Jama Masjid Srinagar, where a large number of Ulema, admirers, and members of the public gathered in large numbers to pay their final respects. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq participated in the funeral rites, and the Janazah prayer was led by the late Maulana’s son, Ayub Mubarki.
