SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 15: Senior resistance leadership comprising of Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, JKLF Chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and J & K People’s Political Party (PPP) Chairman, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, was arrested from city center Lal Chowk today and lodged in police station Kothibagh. Joint Resistance Leadership had today taken out a protest rally on the Civil Lines area of Srinagar. The purpose of the rally was to draw the global attention towards the serious human rights violations carried out by the Indian state on Kashmir and also against many Kashmiri jail inmates lodged on the state and outside of it. JRL leaders expressed grave concern over systematic genocide unleashed by the Indian forces in South Kashmir. While addressing the rally the leaders said that the comity of nations should wake up and impress upon India not only to stop committing human rights violations in Kashmir, but also work towards resolving the burning Kashmir crisis. The leaders said that the freedom loving Kashmiris can’t be bullied into silence by these heinous tactics. The rally was also addressed by the Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani. A shutdown call was also given for November 27 as a mark of protest against New Delhi’s war crimes in Kashmir.
