Mirwaiz Expresses Condolences on the Demise of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani and others

Srinagar, June 10: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani, the father of Moulana Bashir Ahmad Nadwi — renowned social activist and the founder of the welfare organisation Athrout.

Mirwaiz visited the bereaved family at their residence in Nawakadal to offer his condolences. Paying rich tribute to the deceased, he described his passing as a significant loss for the entire locality. He noted that Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani had a long and deep association with the Mirwaiz family, and his death is personally felt with pain and grief.

Extending heartfelt sympathy to Moulana Bashir Ahmad Nadwi and other members of the Wani family, Mirwaiz prayed for the departed soul’s maghfirah (forgiveness) and a high place in Jannat, and for sabr (patience) and strength to the grieving family.

Mirwaiz also expressed grief over the demise of Abdul Rehman Gujri, the elderly maternal uncle of young journalist and founder-editor of the daily Srinagar Jung, Mr. Bilal Bashir Bhat. Offering condolences to the deceased’s sons, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad and Mr. Merajuddin Gujri, as well as to Mr. Bilal Bashir Bhat, the Mirwaiz prayed to Almighty Allah for the deceased’s maghfirah and eternal peace.

In a statement issued to the Kashmir Media Watch, In a separate message, the Mirwaiz also expressed sorrow over the demise of Darrah Sampat, wife of the late Sampat Prakash, a courageous and prominent trade union leader. He extended his sympathies to the bereaved family at this hour of grief.
