Srinagar, Dec 14: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq has expressed profound sorrow over the demise of Abdul Rashid Gaani, the President of the Jamiat Hamdania Jammu and Kashmir, residing in Nallah Bal, Bagh Ali Mardan Khan, Srinagar, and the respected father of a religious scholar & Imam of the Hazratbal shrine, Moulana Riaz-ul-Haq Noorabadi.

In a statement issued to the Kashmir Media Watch, Mirwaiz in his condolence conveyed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the Gaani family, the leaders of the Jamiat Hamdania, Moulana Noorabadi and other bereaved family members.

He paid tribute to the social and milli services of the late Abdul Rashid Gaani Sahab and the valuable contributions of Moulana Noorabadi’s respected father. He described the passing of both persons as a significant loss and prayed to Allah, the Almighty, to grant Jannat-ul-Firdous to the departed souls, as well as patience and strength for their bereaved family members.
