Mirwaiz calls for shutdown tomorrow against Chattergam killings

Srinagar, Nov 4: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of his faction of Hurriyat Conference, has called for a complete shutdown on Wednesday, Nov 5, to protest the killing of two civilians by Army soldiers in central Kashmir’s Budgam on Monday.

“The killing of two innocent youths by Army is unfortunate,” Umar said, adding that a complete shutdown should be observed tomorrow to register our protest.

Calling for a probe into the shooting by independent agencies, Umar said the guilty must be punished.

Two youths were killed while two others were critically injured after soldiers fired on their car in Chattergam area of Budgam district on Monday evening.
