Srinagar: A high level delegation from Ministry of Home affairs visited the proposed trade facilitation centre at Salamabad, Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
Official sources told KMW besides the progress of the terminal, the delegation also reviewed the facilities for cross-Line of Control trade.
The team, headed by Union Joint Secretary Home (Kashmir), S Sikand met a delegation of Salambad-Chakoti Traders Union headed by chief spokesperson, Hilal Ahmad Turki.
During the meeting, the traders delegation put forth several demands for improving the cross-LoC trade including exemption of the trade from the income tax, increase in the number of current 21 trade items, monthly meeting between traders from both sides, etc.
The members also held meeting with top officials of state government including Joint Secretary Commerce, Passport Officer, director Industries and others.
