Mera Yuva Bharat Kargil organises 2nd Unity March ‘Sardar@150’

Kargil, November 13: Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Kargil, in collaboration with District Administration Kargil, organised the 2nd Unity March under the Sardar@150 campaign at Sankoo, Kargil, to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, flagged off the Unity March as the Chief Guest. Around 600 participants, including students from various educational institutions of Sankoo Block, volunteers from Anjuman Sahib Zaman Kargil, Anjuman-e-Inqalab Mehdi Kargil, MY Bharat volunteers, government officials, and members of civil society took part in the event.

The Unity March aimed to recall Sardar Patel’s contribution to the nation and inspire youth to uphold the values of unity, patriotism, and public service. The Sardar@150 campaign is a Government of India initiative led by Mera Yuva Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, to celebrate the life and legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil; Shri Mohd Hanifa Jan, Member of Parliament, Ladakh; Er. Phuntsog Tashi, Executive Councillor; Shri Rakesh Kumar (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Kargil; Shri Nitin Yadav (IPS), Senior Superintendent of Police, Kargil; Shri Kacho Imteeyaz (JKAS), Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil; and Shri Waseem Ramzan (JKAS), Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sankoo were also present on the occasion.
