SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 05: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today visited Asar Sharief Hazratbal and paid her obeisance there. She visited various areas of the shrine and oversaw the arrangements made for the devotees.
On the occasion, Mehbooba Mufti also reviewed the arrangements put in place by J&K Muslim Waqf Board and the divisional administration for the coming Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) being observed next week.
The Chief Minister, who is also the chairperson of the Waqf Board, directed uninterrupted supply of electricity, drinking water, sanitation facilities at the shrine complex and all the other shrines of the Valley. She asked for making elaborate heating arrangements for devotees, particularly women, who would be coming for shab khawani and other supplications.
Mehbooba Mufti herself went round the areas earmarked for prayers for ladies and gents, places of ablution; facilitation counters etc and took stock of the facilities put in place there.
Later, the Chief Minister visited the shrine of Hazrat Peer Dastageer Sahib (RA) at Khanyar and prayed for peace and prosperity in the State.
The Chief Minister took on the spot review of the pace of reconstruction at the shrine. She directed the MD, JKPCC to complete all the interior works of the shrine at the earliest in harmony with the design of old shrine complex.
Vice-Chairman, J&K Muslim Waqf Board, Peer Mohammad Hussain, Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, IGP, Kashmir Zone, SJM Gillani, Chief Engineer, PDD, Shehnaz Goni, MD, JKPCC, Dileep Thusu, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Chief Executive, J&K Muslim Waqf Board, Fayaz Ahmad Lone besides senior officers of divisional and district administration accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
