Srinagar, April 08: A massive encounter has broken out between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, lying in the south of the Kashmir valley.

Militants of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind are trapped in a encounter near main town shopian in Jan Mohalla.
Pertinent to mention here internet services have been suspended in the Shopian district of South Kashmir. Two security force personnel have been injured at the site of the encounter, one of them is critical Sources stated .
Reports stated that the joint team of Police, army’s 44RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Jan Mohalla.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off the massive gunfight.
