Srinagar, 16 January : Education is the cornerstone of every civilized nation and society .It has been long seen the Government teachers get huge amount of perks and salary but still the Government schools in Jammu and Kashmir are in bad shape .
In an optimistic development ,School Education Department Friday imposed a complete ban on government school teachers from taking classes at private coaching institutes.
The move comes in the wake of the implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act-2009 in J&K.
Masses are welcoming the move .
Owais Ahmad , a youngester Stated :
“Government teachers have failed to make our public education system impressive . Many of them have conflict of interest and in voilation of their service ruled have been imparting tuition in private coaching centers and thus earning much without giving same interest in the Government schools they are posted .We welcome the Government decision to ban the teachers from taking Tuition .”
As a matter of fact , The RTE Act 2009 became applicable in J&K in October 2019 following the abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian constitution by the Government of India.
In a circular issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Srinagar, the government school teachers, as per the directions conveyed by the Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) have been barred from engaging in private tuition or private teaching activity.
“Failing this, action as warranted under the rules will be initiated against the erring teaching personnel,” the circular reads.
The move has generated lot of optimism in Jammu and Kashmir that it would prove beneficial step for our education system.
