CHRAR-I-SHARIEF: On the eve of weeklong celebrations of annual Urs of Sheikh-ul-Aalam Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA), the Markaz-i-Noor Sheikh-ul-Aalam chair, University of Kashmir in collaboration with Markaz Adabi Saqafat and J&K Information Department organized an impressive seminar at Charar-i-Sharief.
The function was attended a large number of devotees, poets and scholars including Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Mr. Mohammad Rafi, Director Information, Khawaja Farooq Renzushah, Head Markazi Noor, Prof. Bashar Bashir and Head Dean Academic Affairs, University of Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Renzushah while highlighting the religious and social aspects of the life of Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Aalam said revered saint was identity of Kashmiriat. He played a major role in spreading the message of Islam.
While speaking Mr. Mohammad Rafi said that Rs. 9 crore has been expended on the construction of new Khanqah Faiz Panah out of estimated cost of Rs. 26 crores. He said opening of a Sub Centre on writings of Sheikh-ul-Aalam needs to be dovetailed with Kanqah project. He urged the need for promotion of Kashmiri literature and offered all possible help from the district administration in this regard. He also called for inculcating moral values among the youth.
Prof. Bashar Bashir while briefing about the future programmes of Markazi Noor Sheikh-ul-Aalam Chair supported the demand for sub Centre of Markazi Noor at Chrar-i-Sharief. He said efforts are underway to translate poetry of Sheikh-ul-Aalam into Urdu and English.
On the occasion some research papers were presented on many aspects on the life Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA). Those who presented their research papers included Ghulam Nabi Adfar, Prof. Shad Ramzan, Prof. Farooq Fayaz, Anayat Gul, Ali Ahmad Ahsan and Shamshad Kralwari.
On this occasion a book “Yadan Hunz Sogat” was released by Khawaja Farooq Renzushah and Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Mr. Mohammad Rafi.
A poetic recitation was also held in which a large number of poets recited their poems.
