Major Boost to Education Infrastructure at HSS Pashkum: ₹6.22 Crore Sanctioned for CBSE-Standard Facilities

Kargil, October 06: The Principal, staff members, and School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) of PM Shri Government Higher Secondary School, Pashkum announced a landmark development in the school’s journey toward academic excellence. 

A total of ₹6.22 crore has been sanctioned under the Special Development Plan (SDP) for the development of CBSE-standard infrastructure, and separate funds have also been sanctioned for clearing existing liabilities related to the completion of the school’s Multipurpose Hall.

This significant allocation marks a transformative step for HSS Pashkum, which currently functions from an upgraded high school building. 

The new infrastructure will align the school with national CBSE standards, greatly enhancing the academic experience and learning environment for students in this remote region.

The school Principal , staff members and the School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) conveyed sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Executive Councillor for Education, LAHDC Kargil, Zakir Hussain; Hon’ble Executive Councillor for Rural Development and Tourism,  and Councillor, Pashkum Constituency LAHDC Kargil, Shri Kacho Feroz; Secretary, School Education, UT Ladakh, and Bhanu Prabha; Director, School Education, UT Ladakh, Tashi Dolma for their steadfast support, timely intervention, and commitment to uplifting educational infrastructure in the region.

Additionally, the provision of an independent 64 KV transformer for the school — facilitated by the efforts of EC Zakir Hussain will ensure uninterrupted power supply, supporting both academic and administrative functions. 

These developments mark a new chapter for HSS Pashkum. The school community is optimistic that such strategic investments will foster empowered learning, improved student outcomes, and contribute significantly to holistic community development.
