Maisuma shuts for 5 day

Srinagar, April 25: A complete shutdown was observed in Maisuma locality in the heart of Srinagar city for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday.

All the shops and business establishments remained closed throughout the day.

The shutdown is being observed in wake of the continuous detention of local youth Ashiq Ahmed Dar who has again been booked under Public Safety Act for the consecutive fifth time. Police had arrested Aashiq Ahmad of Maisuma on charges of allegedly attacking a senior police officer during protest last year.
