Maisuma Behbood Committee appeals for discounted Electricity Bills

Srinagar, June    26: The Maisuma Behbood Committee expressed deep concern over the excessive increase in electricity fees in Maisuma area and appealed to the authorities to not only reduce the electricity fee but also discount the monthly electricity fee considering the low financial conditions of the residents of the area. They said Fees should be collected from users on a fair basis.

Maisuma Behbood Committee President Ajaz Ahmed War, while presiding over the meeting of the committee today, said that most of the people in the area belong to the lower class, so it is not only difficult for them to pay hefty amount in the form of electricity fee. It is rather impossible. He said that with the introduction of meters, there has been an increase in concern among the common people, on the other hand, due to the installation of meters, there is a fear that the electricity fee will rise further.

All the members present in the meeting including President Ajaz Ahmed War, General Secretary Parvaiz Ahmed Khan and others strongly appealed to the authorities to permanently send discounted bills of electricity fee on humanitarian grounds keeping in mind the financial condition of the people of Maisuma area.
