Minsk, June 3 Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres discussed issues related to exports of Ukrainian grain during a phone conversation on Friday, the state-run Belta news agency reported.
According to Belta, Lukashenko said that Belarus is ready to transport Ukrainian grain to the ports of the Baltic countries.
Lukashenko added that Minsk was ready to assist Ukraine in exporting its grains through the territory of Belarus.
“Everyone is looking for logistics now: where? How? Please, we can talk. We are not against it: ship it through Belarus, but there have to be compromises,” Belarusian news agency SB News quoted Lukashenko as saying.
The president also said that he had discussed the issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin and that they had agreed on five directions for grain exports from Ukraine. However, Lukashenko said, the presidents had agreed that Belarus was the best direction.
