Lok adalat settles 23 cases in Kashmir, another Adalat on Dec 30

Srinagar: A Lok Adalat amicably settled 23 cases of different nature in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, where another Lok Adalat will be held on December 30.

Officials today said the Lok Adalat was held in the Munsiff court Magam under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Budgam, Gous-ul-Nisa Jeelani, who is also the Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Budgam.

They said more than 100 litigants have applied to adalat to settle their cases, where a total of 62 cases were taken up for hearing out of which 42 were criminal and 20 were civil cases.

However, 23 cases of different natures were settled on spot.

In addition, fine was also realised under the Motor Vehicles Act.

The chairman, District Legal Session Authority, Principal District and Session Judge, Budgam, said one more Lok Adalat will be held in the court complex on December 30.

The litigants whose cases are still pending before the courts of Principal District and Session Judge, Sub Judge, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Munsiff Judicial Magistrate, Budgam and are interested in setting their cases, disputes, MACT claims in the next Lok Adalat shall apply for the same before courts concerned on or before December 30, 2011.
