Literary function organized by Shafi Shaida foundation

Srinagar: A literary function was organised by Shafi Shaida Foundation at SKICC here today in which large number of people and poets participated.
The Chief Guest of the function was parliament Member Mr. Safi-ud-Din Soz.
Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir, Ex-Parliament Mamber, Mr. A. R. Shaheen, MLA (NC), Gurez, Mr. Nazir Gurezi, Ex Chief Justice of J&K High Court, Mr. Bashir Ahmed Khan were present on the occasion. The literary personalities include Mr. Ghulam Nabi Khayal, Director Information, Khawaja Renzushah, Zarief Ahmed Zarief, Mr. Shafi Shouq, Mr. Farooq Nazki and Dr. Javed were also present in the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Soz said that literature is the soul of a living society adding that the people connected with literature have been gifted by Nature with the delicacy and sensitivity to give society a feeling of oneness and unity to live with brotherhood, amity embedded in them.
Mr. Soz lauded the role of Shafi Shaida for his contribution in Kashmiri literature and philosophy of life. He also spoke high of Shafi Shaida Foundation for working for the betterment of intellectuals, poets and writers and stressed foundation chairperson, Mrs. Shaida to concentrate on its basic objective of promoting art, culture and literature.
Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Gh. Hassan Mir asked literary persons for promotion of “Kashmiri Adab” and assured the literary persons that government is always on forefront for promotion of Kashmiri culture and literature.
Recalling the contribution of Shafi Shaida for promotion of Kashmiri Literature, Mr. Mir said that he always worked for Kashmiri ethos and culture. He said that the foundation would act as a platform for literary persons for their contribution in literature.
The literary personalities also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the various aspects of the literary life of Shafi Shaida and his contribution towards Kashmiri literature.
Children of different schools presented colourful programmes on the occasion.
