Jammu, 09th November: “India will power the world’s next innovation wave,” the Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha said today. He said our focus is to ensure scientific findings, research and ideas are effectively translated and applied in the field for Sustainable long-term economic growth and improved quality of life. The Lieutenant Governor was addressing the 16th Convocation of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Speaking on the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor said that it was his privilege to preside over the 16th convocation of the NIT, Raipur which is a premier institution for advanced Science and Technology education in Chhattisgarh.

“Today the world is watching India with new respect as a nation that not only dream big but also delivers. And behind this rise stand institutions like NIT Raipur nurturing young minds, connecting academia with industry and turning ideas into action through innovation and entrepreneurship and working towards making the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat into reality,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor said that India needs Job creators and entrepreneurs as they are essential to generating employment, driving innovation, and building a dynamic economy. He said the young researchers are needed to develop solutions to pressing issues such as climate change, healthcare, education, and technology.

“Together, these roles are crucial for making India self-reliant, competitive on the global stage, and capable of inclusive and sustainable growth. Let your ideas not just build things, but change lives. Remember, every innovation starts with a question, so keep asking, keep exploring, and keep working to take this great land of Bharat further on the path of progress,” the Lieutenant Governor told the students.

The Lieutenant Governor said that the advancements in machine learning, generative AI and autonomous systems will impact every sphere of life in the near future and will be a major driver of economic growth, offering significant opportunities for young technology professionals.

“Today India is the global epicenter for Global Capability Centers (GCC) and 90% of them are operating as multi-functional units and contributing to technology operations, product engineering, and engineering research and development worldwide. By 2030 the numbers of GCC will increase significantly and they will be a powerhouse of innovation,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor gave Five Mantras or Five Guiding Principles to students for a brighter future.

“First, adopt lifelong learning and continuously update your skills to keep pace with rapidly evolving technology. Second, focus on problem solving and whether you are working with some company or an entrepreneur, your focus should be on building solutions that bring meaningful change in people’s lives. The third mantra is – Think Big, Think Innovatively – I want you to have the courage to think out-of-the-box and do not be afraid of failures but learn from them and find creative approaches for further success. Fourth, follow the spirit of teamwork because behind every great success in life lies the spirit of collaboration. Fifth, always be prepared for change. I have talked about the rapid pace of change, and so I want you to be resilient to changing technologies, constantly evolving industries, and workplaces,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
