Kargil, January 01, 2025: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd.) today celebrated the New Year with Army Jawans at 121 Mountain, Kargil Sentinels Brigade at Kargil.
Present on the occasion were Lt. General Hitesh Balla, SC Bar, SM, VSM, GOC–14 Corps, Major General K Mahesh, SM, GOC, 8 Mtn. Div., Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Kacho Mohd Feroz, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Brigadier Prateek Prashar, Commander Kargil Sentinels Brigade, Senior Superintendent of Police, Kargil Shree Raam R., representatives of Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust, Jamiat Ulema Isna Ashriya, Anjuman Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat, Buddhist Association, etc.
In a heartfelt and motivational speech to the Army Jawans, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor extended his wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year. The HLG praised the Army Jawans for their unwavering dedication to serving the nation under extreme conditions, including low oxygen levels and harsh cold climates.
The HLG said that the nation should honor and remember Army Jawans not only during challenging times but also in times of peace adding it is their sacrifices and hardships that allow the nation to rest peacefully.
The HLG advised Army Jawans to keep up their courage, determination, and focus on achieving their goals. He further reiterated that while they are brave, and gallant, they also uphold the good name of their cherished family members—as a father, a brother, a son, and a husband.
The HLG distributed sweets among the Army Jawans and local public representatives and interacted with them on the occasion of the New Year. He extended his best wishes and blessings for the year ahead.
