LeT militant involved in Sarpanch killing arrested: Police

Srinagar: Baramulla police has achieved a breakthrough by arresting a LeT militant involved in killing of Sarpanch Ghulam Mohammad Yatoo of Raipora Palhalan, a police spokesman said.

“In a operation carried by Baramulla Police, 29 RR and 45 Bn CRPF at village Raipora Palhalan, Baramulla LeT militant Mohammad Altaf Ganie @ Cheema son of Abdul Hamid resident of Raipora, Palhalan was arrested. He was involved in the killing of Sarpanch Ghulam Mohammad Yatoo of Raipora Palhalan. However, his other accomplice in the killing Shabir Ahmed Sheikh @ Shaka is still at large”, the spokesperson said.
“One AK47 rifle, four AK magazines, 192 rounds of AK ammunition, one pistol, four pistol rounds, one pouch, one wireless set and 32 No’s of IED circuit packs were recovered from them”, he added.
He said that a case FIR No. 207/2012 under section 302, 120B RPC, 7/25 A. Act stands registered in police station Pattan with regard to the killing of the Sarpanch.(KMW News)
