JAMMU:-The Subordinate Committee of legislative council met today under the chairmanship of MLC Mr. B. A. Magray to discuss the
Rules and Acts of Social welfare department along with its functioning.
Mr. Mohd Yaseen Additional Secretary Social Welfare Department briefed the committee about various welfare schemes run by the department.
The Committee asked the Social welfare department to maintain proper Block wise distribution of Anganwari centers. Furthermore, the authorities were advised to put the details of all social welfare schemes and list of beneficiaries’ on its website so as to ascertain the genuiness of beneficiaries and also organize frequent awareness programmes at grass root level for the information of general public. . The committee was also informed that all pending pension cases shall be taken up after availability of funds.
The meeting was attended by their members Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, Mr. Ghulam Qadir, Haji Ali Mohd Bhat, Aga sayeed Rizvi, Mr. B.A. Veeri and Mr. Nizamud din Khatana. (KMW News)
