Large cache of arms, ammunition recovered in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 10: A large cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered from Zoonareshi area in the frontier district of Kupwara, where fierce encounter took place on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said here this afternoon that arms and ammunition recovered from the encounter site included 2 AK 47, 7 AK Magazine, 1 UBGL, 116 AK rounds, 1 UBGL Grenade 3 Hand Grenade 2 wireless set, 2 Pouches, 1 Compas, 2 Map sheets, 1 Matrix, 1 Wire cutter and 1 GPS.

Two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), two constables of state police were killed and seven others, including a woman, were injured in the encounter.
