LAHDC Kargil Signs MoU with Golden Mile Learning for Reinforced Teacher Training Program

Kargil, September 23: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil and Golden Mile Learning NGO for the Reinforced Teacher Training (RTT) Program at an event held in Kargil yesterday.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon; Executive Councillor Education, Zakir Hussain; Member Parliament Ladakh, Mohd Hanifa Jan; Secretary Higher Education, Bhanu Prabha; Executive Councillor Tourism, Kacho Mohd Feroz; and Programme Director, Golden Mile Learning, Dr. Neepa Oza.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Neepa Oza said the agreement is not just a contract but a step of hope and aspiration towards fulfilling the educational needs of Kargil, especially in English education and communication. She added that the RTT program is specially designed for teachers keeping in mind the unique challenges faced in Ladakh.

CEC Dr. Jaffer Akhoon, in his address, emphasised that the impact of the program should be visible on the ground and assured that a proper review of the initiative will be properly assessed at the end of every year. He said the primary aim of the MoU is to ensure that students benefit directly, and thanked the UT Administration for funding the program. He expressed hope that the training will equip teachers with effective English teaching skills to enhance students’ learning outcomes.

During the event, detailed discussions were held among the dignitaries regarding the programme’s scope and implementation.

Rinchan Wangmo gave a presentation on the RTT Program, describing it as a thoughtfully designed initiative to support English language teachers across Ladakh.
