Kupwara Turns into Mourning Town after Deadly Traffic Incident

Sopore, Jan 12: Kupwara has turning into mourning town after a deadly accident that is repo so far killed five persons and critically wounding three. Pertinently, a mini-passenger carrier which was on way from Kupwor district capital, Srinagar, collided with a mini-truck resulting in on-the-spot death of five commuters. Three reported dead are from Trehgam village.

The mishap took place on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway near Haigam-Pattan this morning. Three commuters were seriously injured and were shifted to hospital. Among those dead are two women Naza Begum and Sara, the official said, adding: Mohammad Shafi Malik, Dilshad Ahmad Pir, also died in the incident– all those killed in the mishap are from Kupwor. One of the dead is a 30-year-old man who is yet to be identified, he said.
Reports reaching here state that entire Kupwara has turned into a mourning place after the heart rending news reached there.
