Kulgam Gunbattle leaves three Militants, Police officer Army Jawan Dead

Srinagar, Feb 24 (KMW): South Kashmir’s Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday saw a deadly gun battle.

Pertinently, The security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Turigam area of Kulgam district following information about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said.

He added that the militants opened firing on the security forces personnel, who retaliated, triggering a gun-battle.
Reports state three militants, one senior police officer and army Jawan lost life in the encounter.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Aman Thakur was killed in the exchange of fire, they officials said.
