Srinagar, Feb 1: The Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation President Mr Haji Muhammad Yasin Khan today said the KTMF has not called for any strike onTuesday, February 2, 2016.
In a statement Khan said the KTMF was yet to decide on the matter in the wake of news reports that traders would not get any compensation. “We are yet to get any formal response from the government. We’ll seek details from the Raj Bhawan about the decision over the long-pending rehabilitation of the flood-hit traders and take decision accordingly,” Khan said.
“Let’s get a formal word of ‘yes’ or ‘no’. And once the government plan is open, we will decide accordingly,” he said.
He said the KTMF was committed to seek rehabilitation of flood-hit traders and would fight for the cause till each and every trader is not rehabilitated. “KTMF stands by its commitment that if the traders are not given decent compensation, we will take to streets for a decisive battle against the government,” Khan reiterated.
He said the rehabilitant of the traders was the basic right of the business community. “It has to be decisive campaign but as of now it’s all hearsay. Unless we get formal intimation from the government as to whatever it has decided, it will be prematureto go for any strike,” Khan said.
