Moscow, May 29 Ukraine has lost up to 400 soldiers in the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics (DPR and LPR) in battles with Russia’s Zapad (West) Group of Forces over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
“The Ukrainian armed forces have lost up to 400 servicepeople, two tanks, 11 cars [among other losses in battles with the western group of the Russian armed forces],” the ministry said in a statement, adding that the group has also repelled two counterattacks.
Russia’s central group has repelled five counterattacks in the DPR and Kiev has lost up to 335 soldiers, while the southern group has improved its tactical position and Ukraine has lost up to 245 soldiers. In battles with the eastern group of forces, Kiev has lost up to 125 soldiers.
Russia’s northern group has repelled four counterattacks in the Kharkov region and Kiev lost up to 165 soldiers, the statement read.
