Srinagar, 8 July : On the fifth death anniversary of prominent Militant Commander Burhan Wani different parts of Kashmir especially the capital Srinagar observed an effective Shutdown .
Srinagar , and other districts saw very thin private transport with public transport off the roads and shops also closed .
The nerve center of Kashmir Summer capital Sriningar the historic Lalchowk and adjoining areas bore a very deserted look .
Meanwhile , Jammu Kashmir National Front (NF) has paid great tributes to Burhan Muzaffar Wani, on his 5th death anniversary.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday the National Front spokesperson Shafiq-ur-Rehman while highlighting the commander’s supreme sacrifices and peerless contribution towards the ongoing Kashmir struggle said that “Shaheed Burhan would be remembered in the history of Kashmir as a symbol of resistance against India ”. “The way he (Burhan) imbibed new spirit and gave a new direction to the movement is a proud legacy that would continue to inspire our coming generations”, the spokesman said . The spokesman also praised the Wani family’s contribution to the liberation struggle, saying that Burhan’s elder brother had also laid down his life for the cause .
Burhan Wani was arguably among the most popular militant faces of Kashmir.
