Srinagar, February 11 (KMW): Commplete shutdown is being observed across Kashmir , today, to mark the 35th death anniversary of prominent Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, who was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on 11th of February in 1984.

Call for the strike was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) .

In its statement, JRL said, “The struggle and sacrifices rendered by great leaders of Kashmiri freedom struggle — martyr Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and martyr Muhammad Afazl Guru — are glorious chapters of Kashmir’s resistance history.
While as Syed Ali Shah Gilani , Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Ashraff Sehrai , Engineer Hilal Ahmad War , Mukhtar Waza are under continuous house detention since February 8 and JKLF Chief , Mohammad Yasin Malik has been under continuous detention since February 6 and is lodged in pilice station Kothi bagh.
