Srinagar, Jan 26 (KMW): On the eve of Republic day, Kashmir valley Sunday observed complete shutdown on a call given by various pro-freedom groups. The pro-freedom camp had unanimously issued a strike call. Separatists had requested people to observe the day as ‘Black day’ and stay indoors. All the shops and business establishments were closed and the roads gave deserted look all along the day as the traffic remained absent from roads across various districts including Srinagar. Heavy arrangements of security were made and thousands of police and para-military forces personnel were deployed on Srinagar streets. Mobile phones and internet services remained suspended from Sunday morning to 1PM.(KMW)
