Srinagar: Kashmir High Court Bar Association Friday alleged that the supremacy of judiciary was under threat in Jammu and Kashmir. “The supremacy and sanctity of judiciary is under threat due to the hedonic attitude of the executive authority, as such Bar Association should also devote its efforts for restoration of judicial supremacy in the state,” Executive Committee of the lawyer’s body under the chairmanship of Advocate Mian Abdul Qayoom observed, a spokesman told. The body also decided that present Executive Body of the association will continue till ending July this year.     The spokesman said that various issues relating to the Bar Association were discussed besides the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir during the meeting.“In the executive meeting all the members while expressing their confidence in M. A. Qayoom President and G. N. Shaheen General Secretary were of this opinion that the present Executive Body shall continue till 31st of July 2011 and ruled out by elections.” It was decided in the meeting that elections be held on due date in the month of July for electing new body, the spokesman added.
