Srinagar, October 07: The Jammu and Kashmir Young Journalist Association (JKYJA) has strongly condemned the cowardly act of violence against Daily Kashmir Times, Editor Ms Anuradha Bhasin by the persons having political backing. The statement said that such immoral acts are not only unacceptable but an act to systematically weaken the fourth pillar of democracy.
In a statement issued to media, JKYJA stated the state, police and other political parties on this occasion can’t be mere spectators, adding, that the culprits involved should be instantly booked and punished under the relevant law of land.
Ajaz Ahmad War president JKYJA reaffirmed the voice of Ms Anuradha Bhasin who besides being a renowned journalist of Valley who also edits a reputed Newspaper “Kashmir Times” can’t be muzzled by using the muscle power. She is the only person from the media fraternity who braved all the odds by standing firm against the media blockade and internet shutdown in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 and took the case to Supreme Court of India.
JKYJA appeals the concerned authorities to look into the matter with the great details and book the culprits as early as possible. JKYJA is a body of hundreds of young journalists in Jammu and Kashmir extends full support to Ms Bhasin at this juncture.
