Srinagar/ PUNE, NOVEMBER 30- A delegation of officers comprising of Deputy Director Tourism Jammu S.K. Attri, Deputy General Manager JKTDC Ashwani Gupta, Under Secy Tourism Zahid Ahmad Peer and Tour and Travel Agents of J&K under the guidance of Secretary Tourism Farooq Ahmed Shah, participated in India International Travel Mart held at Pune from 27th to 29thNovember 2015.
Besides distributing the brochures, booklets, flyers, posters, CDs and other publicity material, a short film on different tourist destinations of J&K was also shown to the visitors at the event depicting the picturesque places of Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Yusmarg, Verinag, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Patnitop, Sanasar, Mantalai, Sudhmahadev, Jammu, Katra etc. famous for wellness, leisure, religious and adventure tourism.
During the Mart J&K received the award in the category of “best destination in Adventure Tourism”. While speaking on the occasion S.K. Attri informed the audience that J&K is as safe as any other destination of the country and is capable of catering to both budgeted and high end tourists. In its endeavor to cater the needs of high end tourists visiting J&K, helicopter service has been started recently from Srinagar to Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Air safari ride respectively on reasonable rates.
Ashwani Gupta DGM JKTDC, offered attractive winter, summer and spring packages of different tourist destinations including Katra recently launched by JKTDC in its effort to woo more tourists to J&K state.
A large no of intending tourists visited the JK Tourism Stall and enquired about the different tourist destinations of the state.
The delegation also interacted with tour operators / Travel agents and persuaded them to make J&K the most preferred and round the year Tourist destination.
