J&K Government announces State awards

JAMMU, JANUARY 25: On the occasion of 67th Republic Day, the State Government today announced names for grant of State Awards in various fields.

Mr. Azhar Rasool (posthumously) S/o Late Gh. Rasool has been accorded State award for Bravery.

Prof. Mohammad Zaman Azurda and Mrs. Bimla Raina W/O Mr. K.K. Raina, (Writer) have been accorded State Award for achievement in the field of literature.

Mr. Krishan Langoo, Mr. Gulzar A. Ganie (Singer) and Mr.Rashid Jahangir (Singer)have been accorded State Award for performing Arts.

Mr.Abdul Aziz Bazaz, Craftsman, (wood carving) has been awarded for excellence in Arts and Crafts.

Mr. Pradip Kumar Tripathi, IAS, Mr. Raj Kumar Goyal, IAS and Mr. Hashmat Ali Khan, KAS have been accorded State Award for meritorious public service.

Pandit Bhajan Sopori has been accorded State life time achievement award.

Mr. Chain Singh (Shooting), Ms. Arushi Kotwal (Chess), Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Lattoo (Kayaking/canoeing), Ms. Manpreet Kour (Gymnastics),  Ms. Shweta Thakur (Judo), Mr. Showkat Jeelani (Paralympics) and  Lt. Col. Ranveer Singh Jamwal,(Mountaineering) have been accorded State Award for outstanding Sports person.

Mr. Shujaat Bukhari (Journalist), Mr. Shafiq Ahmed Qureshi, Regional News Unit, DD News, Srinagar and Mr. Youg Raj Raina, Cameraman, DD Kendra, Jammu have been accorded State Award for outstanding media person.

Mr. Khurram Mir, (HN Agri Serve (P) Ltd), Mr. Umar Tramboo (Khyber Group) and Sheikh Imran (Kehwah Group) have been accorded State Award for Exemplary Industrial Entrepreneurship.
