J&K Bank opens business unit, conducts camps

Srinagar, Feb 26: J&K Bank commissioned one more Business Unit in Srinagar today at Ahmad Nagar taking the total number of bank’s business units to 836.
The bank’s Vice President and Zonal Head Abdul Rashid Shegan inaugurated the business unit in presence of Cluster Head (II) Altaf Mehboob Gani, valuable customers, representatives of trader’s bodies and senior citizens of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Zonal Head said, “J&K Bank remains committed to its promise of providing world class banking services to the people of state at their closest possible locations.”
Zonal Head urged the participants to avail the world class banking facilities besides the bank’s financial products tailored to meet all their personal and business requirements.
The participants hailed the effort and thanked the bank.
Meanwhile supported by NABARD under its Financial Inclusion Fund, the bank conducted a series of financial literacy camps in Kulgam, Srinagar, Baramulla and Rajouri (Jammu) during the last few weeks.
Kulgam Camps
Lead Bank Office Kulgam organized awareness camps at Devsar, Chowgam, Shurat, Pombay, Frisal, Laroo, T N Pora, Kelam and Kahrote Kulgam during the last few weeks.
Speaking at the camps, Lead District Manager G N Dar briefed the audiences about various banking schemes and services besides various social security schemes and the benefits thereof.
Facilitator FLCC G M Bhat and Director RSETI Kulgam also spoke on the occasion.
Srinagar Camps
The bank’s RSETI Srinagar concluded two training programs i.e. Dress Designing for Women (21 days) and hand embroidery Crewel Work (15 days) wherein trainees from different areas of Srinagar participated.
Presiding over one of the valedictory programs, Vice President and Administrative Officer JKB RSETIs Mohammad Ibrahim Wani expressed delight and praised the trainees for their confidence in self-reliance. He advised the participants to become job providers instead of job seekers.
Another awareness camp was conducted in Khonmoh area wherein Facilitator FLCC Srinagar Nazir Ahmad spoke about the financial inclusion, latest social security schemes announced by the Prime Minister i.e. PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY besides education and housing loan schemes.
Director RSETI Srinagar Mukhtar Ahmad, Head B.U Khonmoh also informed the audiences about sponsorship of RSETIs and various other banking related issues concerning the people.
Baramulla Camps
In collaboration with FLCC Centre Baramulla, the Bank’s business unit Tarzua organized an awareness camp at Village Haritar in Block Sopore.
The audiences were informed about Prime Ministers Jhan Dhan Yojna and other sponsored schemes besides basics of banking and finances.
Facilitator FLCC Baramulla Mohammad Sultan Dar, Head Business Unit Tarzua, RSETI Sopore representative and others spoke on the occasion.
Similar camps were organized in RSETI Sopore and Bimyar village in Baramulla.
Rajouri Camp
The bank’s business unit in Rajouri Main organized a financial literacy camp at Pallulian village which was attended by a good gathering of people from the village and its adjoining areas.
The participants were informed about the basics of banking, various government sponsored schemes besides various products and services offered by the bank for their financial empowerment. Dozens of accounts were opened on the spot under PMJDY.
