J&K Bank conducts awareness camps in Pulwama, Budgam and Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 1: Continuing with its efforts to spread financial literacy across the state, J&K Bank conducted an awareness camp at village Dussu in Pampore block of Pulwama district wherein a large gathering of residents from the village and its adjoining villages participated. LDM Pulwama, Director RSETI, Facilitator FLCC Pulwama besides Chief Agricultural officer Pulwama, representatives from Social Welfare Department, MetLife insurance and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance companies were also present at the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Facilitator FLCC spoke about benefits of savings, financial inclusion and some important deposit and loan schemes of banks. Chief Agricultural Officer Pulwama talked in detail about various development initiatives started by Agriculture Department and specially mentioned the measures taken under ‘Saffron Mission Scheme’ for promotion of saffron cultivation in the area.
Director RSETI described the purpose of establishing a Rural Self Employment Training Institute in the district and discussed various skill development courses, being conducted at the institute.
Representatives from MetLife and Bajaj Allianz spoke about the life and non-life insurance schemes being offered through branches of J&K bank.
Concluding the programme, LDM Pulwama thanked the public and other participants for their whole hearted participation in the camp. He advised the participants to avail benefits of various schemes, facilities and programmes started by the bank and the government departments for their overall progress and financial stability. At the occasion, various scheme brochures and promotional material was distributed amongst the public.
Meanwhile, FLCC Budgam in collaboration with Lead Bank Budgam organized a financial literacy camp at Malik Community College Budgam.
LDM Budgam Shahzad Hussain Teli urged the audience to open accounts with the banks and highlighted the features of Prime Minister’s MUDRA Yojina to promote and ensure Bank Finance to unfunded segment of the economy to generate employment opportunities for themselves and others as well.
He urged the students who had completed their courses in Para Medical Activity to take the benefit of PMMY which is hassle free scheme under SHISHU, KISHORE and TARUN Categories.
The participants were also apprised about various credit schemes and were encouraged to approach the bank for availing credit facilities to improve their economic conditions.
Director of the college thanked the Lead District Manager and his team for providing financial awareness regarding various beneficial schemes and hoped that the students shall take the advantage of these credit schemes to start their own income generating activities.
Moreover, Business Unit Gund Hassi Bhat Lawaypora organized a well attended literacy camp regarding the latest government schemes like Ladli Beti Deposit Scheme, Atal Pension Yojna and PM Mudra Scheme etc.
The bank staff also informed the people about various aspects of banking like cash certificates, recurring deposit schemes and its impact on income as prescribed by RBI. The forms of various schemes were distributed on spot.
