J&K Assembly witnesses noisy scenes as Speaker refuses to apologise

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today witnessed noisy scenes after Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone refused to apologise to Leader of the Opposition Mehbooba Mufti.
The issue was raised by Deputy Speaker Sartaj Madni alleging that Mr Lone had used unparliamentarily language against Ms Mufti when she wanted to raise an issue today.
Mr Madni said that during the Business Advisory Committee meeting yesterday, BJP legislator party leader Chaman Lal Gupta had said something against some member when Ms Mufti left the meeting.
He said that Ms Mufti wanted to bring to the notice of the Chair the language used by Mr Gupta.
The Speaker denied having said anything unparliamentary and declared that he will again repeat his words.
On hearing the reply from the Speaker, the PDP members were on their feets protesting against the speaker and demanding an apology from him.
