SRINAGAR, MAY 11(KMW): The Director Tourism, Mr Farooq Ahmed Shah today visited Peerzoo Island and took stock of the facilities available there for the visitors.
He said Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir will start the service of Jhelum River Cruise fromtomorrow which will carry 16 passengers at a time.
He said that the service will start at three points which include Lal Ded Memorial Centre, Khanqah Moulla and Hazrat Bulbul Shah (RA). He said tourist guides would also be available there for guiding the tourists. The cruise service would be available from 10 am to 5 pm daily and per head Rs 300 would be charged.
Mr. Shah said that tourism sector is backbone of the state’s economy and the government is working hard to put in place a effective mechanism that will boost the tourism infrastructure in the state besides, providing all facilities to the tourists during their tour in the state.
