The Jammu and Kashmir Young Journalist Association (JKYJA) has paid rich tributes to veteran poet and writer Dr Aziz Hajni aka Abdul Aziz Parray on his demise.
Stating Hajni was one of the greatest Kashmiri poets of all time was a versatile and well known for writing of stories, plays, critic, dictionary, novels, poetry. The JKYJA said Dr Hajni was a resolute promoter of Kashmiri language and played a vital part in including the Kashmiri language as a subject in the school educational plan in Kashmir.
They say Hajni begin his literary journey as a government school teacher for 30 years and later rose to assistant professor ( Kashmiri) in Centre for Shaikh-ul Aalam Studies, the University of Kashmir till he retired from active service in 2019. In between, he was appointed secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in 2015.
A high-level delegation of JKYJA comprising Ajaz Ahmad War, Bilal Bashir Bhat and Rameez Makhdoomi visited the bereaved family and expressed their sympathy and solidarity with the family especially Azhar Hajni and Irshad ul Islam.
