Srinagar: Senior Pro-freedom leader and World Islamic Students League Chairman, Jameel Ahmad War has appealed the people to observe complete strike on the occasion of Indian President, Pranab Mukherjee’s visit on September 27 to Kashmir.
Mr. War said that the purpose of the strike was to convey a message to President that India had invaded Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 and promised to the Kashmiri people that they would be give an opportunity to decide their future by themselves. He deplored that India after the passage of 65 years was yet to honour its commitments.
Mr. War stressed that President of India was visiting at a time when the custodial disappearance of 10,000 Kashmiris was not being probed and Indian government was not conducting an investigation into the unnamed graves discovered in the occupied territory to ascertain the identity of the people buried in these cavities, Jameel Ahmad War, Chairman World Islamic Students League said.
Pertinently, Mr. War said being the constitutional head of the Indian army President Pranab Mukherjee is accountable to the crimes against humanity committed by the occupation forces during the past 65 years.
“Indian government and its occupation authorities in the territory wanted to crush the ongoing liberation movement through use of brute force and Kashmiris had been struggling to secure their right to self-determination for last several decades and would continue their struggle till complete success”, he added.
Mr. War further said that the massive uprising in 2008 to 2010, when many people including youth and students were killed by forces and police personnel, had proved that Kashmiris could not be intimidated into submission through state terrorism. He deplored that so far not a single trooper or policeman involved in the murder of innocent Kashmiris had been arrested or punished.
Mr. .War called for immediate release of all political prisoners who are languishing in jails since decades.(KMW News)
