Srinagar: Police today arrested World Islamic Students League Chairman Jameel War from the volatile Maisuma locality of Srinagar. War had called for widespread protests against the controversial American film innocence of Muslims. War, police sources said, has been taken into preventive custody to thwart any attempts by his organization to carry out demonstrations.
Jameel War had called for peaceful protest after the Friday congregation prayers against the blasphemous movie. According to spokesman of WISL, Jameel War has appealed UNO to constitute an impartial committee against these Anti-Islamic activities and propaganda masterminded by Zionist Lobby with the secret patronage of United States of America. He further asked Muslim Umah to get united against these anti-Islamic forces. Mr. War appealed the Muslim Countries particularly OIC to impose economic sanctions and to Boycott American and Israeli products. (KMW News)
