J-K: 2 Hizbul Mujahideen militants killed in encounter with security forces in Kulgam

Srinagar, September 11: Two Hizbul Mujajideen militants were killed in an encounter with security forces at Khudwani in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said.

The two militants have been identified as Dawood Ahmed Ali and Shaiyar Ahmed Wani. Security forces have recovered various weapons from their possession and an over ground worker (OGW) has also been apprehended.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Khudwani area of Kulgam district on Sunday night following specific information about the presence of some militants there, a police official said. During searches, the militants opened fire at the security forces who retaliated, leading to a gunfight.
