ISSI ORGANIZES SEMINAR ON NEW INTIFADA IN KASHMIR

Speakers at a seminar on Kashmir issue have called for adopting new strategy based on new dimensions of grave human rights situation in the occupied valley.

The seminar titled ‘The new Intifada in Indian Occupied Kashmir’ was organized by Institute of Strategic Studies in connection with the martyrdom anniversary of Kashmiri youth Burhan Muzaffar Wani in Islamabad today.

Speaking on the occasion, Leader of the House in Senate Raja Zafar ul Haq said Indian occupation in the held valley is getting volatile with every passing day due to firm resistance by the Kashmiri people.

He said the new intifada is a testimony of continuous Indian barbarism and obstinacy on the issue.

Raja Zafar ul Haq said the martyrdom of Burhan Muzaffar Wani has vivified the bleak picture of Indian oppression in the valley.

Addressing the participants of the seminar, Senator PML-N Abdul Qayyum said the world is fully aware of Indian obstinacy on Kashmir issue but unfortunately vested material interests are put above human considerations.

He said Pakistan has always stood by the people of Kashmir and represented the case of Kashmir at every front.

Earlier, eminent lawyer Ahmer Bilal Soofi briefed the audience about the legal aspects of the issue and stressed the need for legal analysis on the status of India as an occupying force and Kashmiri people`s internationally recognized right of self determination.

In his remarks on the occasion, PTI`s member National Assembly Ali Muhammad Khan said all political forces in Pakistan stand united when the issue is of Kashmir and have a unanimous stance that the people of Kashmir be granted their just right to self determination.

He said a strong Pakistan is inevitable for successful culmination of Kashmir`s freedom struggle because only then can the case be won.
