Srinagar, April 4 (KMW):Â Kashmir is with every moment turning into an inhuman society and matching the cruel standards set by our neigbouring societies especially when it comes to treating women as equal humans. Just today, in a shocking and brutal incident, a newborn baby girl was killed by immersing her in a bucket of water in a government hospital in Srinagar, official sources said.
Panic gripped Jawharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital at Rainawari in Srinagar after locals saw body of the newborn immersed upside down in a bucket of water in a public bathroom. Police was immediately informed after which a team rushed to the spot and the body was taken away, they said.
. From the paradigm of humanity it is difficult to comprehend how people can stoop down to a level that even Satan would be ashamed..
Our hearts were bruised when in an utterly painful and shocking incident, a 29-year-old ‘pervert’ allegedly raped a nine yearold girl in Bemina locality of Srinagar city sometime back.
Police sources had stated that 29-year-old Zaid Aslam Khan son of Muhammad Aslam Khan resident of Hamdania Colony Bemina raped a nine year old girl in Bemina area.Reports said that the said pervert called the innocent girl into his house when she was proceeding towards Darsgah.
Pertinently, in past days we have also seen series of suicides by young women.
We the society of Kashmir especially men need to think what have we done to our society. We the Kashmiri men have just habit of doing lip service and issuing moral sermons but deep down majority of us have a dirty thought and often through our discourse try to demean womanhood and make them look lesser humans. We think of women as a personal property rather than a fellow human and this shameful psyche is having disastrous results and we the men of Kashmir should introspect.
Fast track Capital Punishment to evils is the one way forward but changing the psyche is permanent solution.
