Intra-mural vollyball and table tennis tournment concludes at GDC Zanskar

Kargil, April 12: Department of Physical Education and Sports, GDC Zanskar today organized an intra-mural tournament in volleyball and table tennis in the college in both men and women category.

The tournment started on 9th of April 2025 and today was the concluding day of the competition which included games in women Volleyball final.

The four day long sports event was thrown open by Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh. Four teams participated in the event. In table tennis women singles final Zafina Akhtar of Team Penzila clinched the title defeating Falzang Angmo of Team Singey La. In women TT doubles Falzang Angmo and Stanzin Plazom of Team Shinku La won the final match played against Zafina Akhtar and Naseem Perveen of Team Penzila.

Similarly, in TT men’s singles the final match was won by Jigmat Akar of Team Omasi La against Chemat Namgyal of Penzi La, while as Stanzin Lakpa and Jigmat Akar of Penzila won in an interesting final match played against Gurmet and Namgyal of Shinku La.

In women’s volleyball tournment Omasi la won the final defeating team Singay La, while as the men’s volleyball final was won by team Penzi La defeating team Singay la.

The event was concluded with the remarks of Mustafa Ali, College Director Physical Education and Sports who appreciated the students for their active participation and thanked Principal and the faculty members for their logistic support in successful conduct of the tournment.
