Inter-school athletic meet concludes in Leh

LEH, MAY 15(KMW): The inter-school athletic meet concluded today here at NSD Sports Complex. Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Leh, Dorjey Motup attended the valedictory function as the chief guest.

Executive Councillor Health/Youth Services & Sports Gyal P Wangyal also attended the function.

Speaking on the occasion, the CEC said taking part in sports is a must for achieving mental and physical fitness. He said that LAHDC, Leh is committed to promote sports activities in the district and efforts are on to complete the indoor stadium at the earliest.

He said that with schemes like ‘Khelo India’ there is a huge opportunity to explore the potential of Ladakhi children in sports. He said that funds to augment sports infra would be provided to schools based on their performance in sports activities.

Councilor Upper Leh, Councilor Khaltsi, District YS&S Officer, District Education Planning Officer, Secretary J&K State BOSS, PE Teachers and masters were also present on the occasion.
