The pro-resistance leaders were scheduled to offer Friday prayers at Islamabad in South Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, Inqilabi termed the arrests as “interference in religious matters”.
“We strongly condemn this police action. Indian government should reconsider its macavellian tactics in Kashmir, as they are fraught with dangerous consequences,” he said.
MeA patron said the arrested pro-resistance leaders have played vital role in reviving of political institutions here.
He also condemned the re-arrest of Muslim League Chairman Mushtaq-ul-Islam. Mushtaq was to address a press conference in Srinagar when police arrested him just five days after his release from a 20-month detention.
“These are the things due to which we consider the cross-Loc trade of onions and potatoes as an attempt to procrastinate the issue of Kashmir,” Inqilabi said.
He said “cosmetic measures” on Kashmir can’t ward-off threats posed by lingering of this issue.
He said India and Pakistan should give Kashmiris their right of self-determination. “This is the only way of achieving long lasting peace in the region.” (KMW News)
